A year ago today, we launched the new ThK-Systems website.
At the time, we described it as part of a larger shift: away from a strong focus on project-based consulting and toward our own products, tools, and ideas.
The website was meant to become more than a digital business card. It was supposed to be a place where we could document what we build, explain why we build it, and occasionally look beyond the code itself.
One year later, it has become exactly that.
🔧 More Than a Redesign
Looking back, the most important change was never the design.
The site itself remained deliberately simple. No oversized banners, no marketing machinery, no attempt to make technical work look more spectacular than it is.
What changed was what began to live here.
During the past year, the blog has become a place for technical articles, development notes, release announcements, architectural thoughts, and sometimes more personal reflections.
Projects such as QuorumBD, retentions, remote-systemd-toggle and others have gradually found their place here as well.
Some started as ideas.
Some started because we needed a tool ourselves.
Some simply refused to remain small experiments.
🧭 The Direction Was Right
In 2025, we wrote:
“This new site is more focused on our blog and our products. It gives us space to share what we are building, how we build it, and why we build it.”
A year later, there is little we would change about that sentence.
The direction has become clearer rather than different.
We still value systems that are understandable, resilient, and deliberately designed. We still prefer substance over spectacle. And we still believe that useful software does not have to become complicated merely to appear important.
🌱 Still Growing
A website is never really finished — especially when the work behind it is not finished either.
There will be more projects.
More technical notes.
More lessons learned.
Probably a few mistakes worth writing about as well.
But after one year, the new website no longer feels particularly new.
It simply feels like ThK-Systems.
And that may be the best result we could have hoped for.
