🇨🇭 August 1st — A New Chapter for ThK-Systems
Today, on August 1st, Switzerland celebrates its National Day, commemorating the founding of the Swiss Confederation 734 years ago.
ThK-Systems has not been around that long — not even close. And apart from institutions such as the Vatican, very few organizations — let alone companies — can look back on centuries of continuous existence.
Still, in the world of information technology, longevity is measured differently.
More than 27 years of continuous operation — surviving the dot-com crash, the financial crisis of 2008, and the global COVID-19 pandemic — is no small achievement for an independent IT company. Technology changes rapidly. Markets shift. Trends rise and disappear. Endurance requires adaptability, discipline, and clarity of purpose.
And yet, even endurance does not mean standing still. Every lasting structure must occasionally realign itself with the winds that shape its environment.
About 36 years ago, Klaus Meine, lead singer of the German rock band Scorpions, wrote the song Wind of Change — a song that became a quiet anthem for transformation, for historic shifts, for moments when something familiar gives way to something new.
Whether coincidence or not, today happens to be a rather windy day. And in its own measured way, ThK-Systems is also stepping into its own wind of change — not as a rupture with the past, but as a continuation, carried forward by intention.
🌬 A Shift in Direction
Over the years, project-based consulting has been a central pillar of our work. It has shaped us. It has challenged us. It has allowed us to support many organizations in building reliable systems.
But the wind is shifting.
Going forward, project business will gradually move into the background. Our focus will increasingly turn toward developing our own products — systems and tools built with long-term thinking, clarity, and technical depth.
This does not mean abandoning our roots. It means sharpening our direction.
Building products requires a different rhythm.
A different focus.
A different way of communicating.
🧭 A Website That Reflects Who We Are
And that is why this new website exists.
It is not a radical break from the previous design. There are no oversized hero banners. No dramatic marketing gestures.
We build systems.
We think long-term.
We prefer substance over spectacle.
We are fighters — persistent, disciplined, resilient — but we are not heroes. We do not need spotlights. We need clarity.
This new site is more focused on our blog and our products. It gives us space to share what we are building, how we build it, and why we build it.
More transparency.
More depth.
More conversation.
🔧 Looking Ahead
The past 27+ years have been defined by reliability and endurance.
The coming years will be defined by deliberate creation.
The wind may change.
Our values will not.
And so, on this Swiss National Day — symbolic of continuity and renewal — we begin this next chapter for ThK-Systems.
Quietly.
Deliberately.
With intention.
